The source may not be that credible compared to others, but if he’s on the dot this time, the new Samsung Galaxy phone may be available to the public come April.

According to internet tech maven Eldar Murtazin, the Samsung Galaxy S3 may be out as early as April 2012. This would come approximately one year after the Galaxy S2’s release date, and as Murtazin stated, would be previewed at the Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona, Spain this March.

Murtazin also discussed the expected specifications and features of the Galaxy S3 smartphone. The handset is believed to feature HD display and an enhanced 12-megapixel rear camera that should be a definite improvement over the Galaxy S2.

Unlike many other devices that require an update to the new platform, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich would be coming right out of the box. This would make it similar to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, except in terms of the back camera specifications. At a comparatively paltry 5 megapixels, users seeking high resolution photos may want to opt for the Galaxy S3 instead, if Murtazin’s scoop is accurate.

However, many have noted Murtazin’s inconsistent history when it comes to posting tech rumors. Some of his previous postings have been right on the dot, while others have been greatly off the mark. We shall have to wait until next month’s Mobile World Congress before we can accurately gauge the chances of this latest round of “insider information” being on the level.
