Nokia Lumia 800 Falls Short like N8
28th November 2011
The Nokia Lumia 800 arrived in the United Kingdom recently but may fall short of its expected sales, industry analysts say. According to reports, the Nokia Lumia 800, a Windows Phone device, will be shipping lesser units than expected by the end of the year.
The analysis released by Bernstein Research indicated that the buzz about the new Nokia model as seen on Google Trends is the same level as that of the N8, a Symbian-powered device from the Finnish multinational company. This is bad news for Nokia because the Nokia N8 had a very hard time in the market.
Pacific Crest previously reported that Nokia will be shipping about 2 million Lumia 800s before the year ends since sales will be pushed by the holidays. Pacific Crest recently withdrew this report though, as soon as analyst James Faucette saw that the estimate may be closer to half a million.
Nokia is one of the oldest names in the handset industry but with no breakthrough innovation, the new phones from the Finnish company are less likely to make a splash in the market.
Other industry experts believe that the new Nokia phone will not be able to survive the competition especially with strong and popular competitors such as Samsung, Apple, and HTC.
