Latest Mortgage Rates: Citi Mortgage Home Purchase and Refinance RatesMortgage interest rates at Citi Mortgage (NYSE:C) remained firm on Thursday. We have observed some minor changes in APRs and discount points, but base rates didn’t move to any direction. The 30-year fixed refinance loan is starting at 3.625% at this lender. 30-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgage: 3.625%, 1.000 discount points, 3.788% APR
15-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgage: 2.875%, 1.125 discount points, 3.180% APR

Earlier today Freddie Mac said that the average rate on the 30-year FRM climbed to 3.52%, slightly up from last week’s 3.51% rate. The average rate on the 15-year FRM didn’t see any changes and remained at 2.76%.

In other news, mortgage application activity in the United States increased last week, according to the results of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) latest survey. The seasonally adjusted Market Composite Index, which measures total mortgage application activity, was up 14.8% in the week ended March 1, the MBA said yesterday. The number of filed applications for home refinancing packages rose 14.8%, while the Purchase Index advanced 15% in the said period. The refinance share of total mortgage applications remained unchanged at 77%.
